About the edition
Always focused on national and international antique dealers, the Biennale Paris opens and discovers new experiences through different capsules.
Vincent Darré, guest artist in this edition, has designed, in collaboration with Mériguet-Carrère, a timeless setting that allows visitors to travel for five days in a space where mixed eras reinvent their own cycles.
Two special partnerships have been established, one with Drouot Auctions, bringing together 62 auction houses, which preview the most important works from the second half of the year at La Biennale Paris, and the other with La Patinoire Royale - Valérie Bach Gallery, which honours a major work by the Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, « Labyrinthe de Transchromie - Bruxelles 2019 », a symbol of La Biennale Paris' commitment to the contemporary sector.
The policy of opening to new galleries continues with a new section for New Talents. A space is dedicated to them and brings together 12 national and international merchants and creators who have been established for less than 10 years.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is the guest of honor of the 31st edition of La Biennale Paris. A pavilion dedicated to the arts and culture of this Gulf country presents in the nave of the Grand Palais an overview of Bahrain's contemporary art, design and craftsmanship in their many forms, as well as its pearling tradition, which is part of the archipelago's history. The joint curatorship is conducted by Mrs Amal Khalaf and Mrs Pascale Le Thorel.
