GALERIE LA FOREST DIVONNE

Contemporary art

Galerie La Forest Divonne (formerly Galerie Vieille du Temple) is a contemporary art gallery founded in Paris in 1988 by Marie Hélène de La Forest Divonne. After leaving Le Marais for a larger space in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 2015, the gallery opened a second space in Brussels in 2016, run by Jean de Malherbe (previously working at Réunion des Musées Nationaux). Two generations of gallerists now dialogue through the two locations of the gallery and confront their views with artists of all practices (photography, painting, sculpture…) and ages (currently aged 27 to 90). Between Paris and Brussels, Galerie La Forest Divonne organizes a dozen gallery exhibitions a year. The gallery represents some twenty-five artists whose practices cover all expressions of the visual arts. From historical figures such as Lucien Hervé in photography, or Vincent Bioulès, Pierre Buraglio and Jean-Michel Meurice for the Support-Surface years, to younger artists such as Arthur Aillaud, Jérôme Bryon, David Décamp or the duo Elsa & Johanna. The gallery’s prime references also include Alexandre Hollan, Jeff Kowatch, Guy de Malherbe or Jean-Bernard Métais.
