MUSEE DE FLANDRE

Overlooking the vast plain, the musée de Flandre is located on a hill in Cassel. This picturesque village full of charm is located halfway between Lille and Dunkirk. The museum is housed in the Hôtel de la Noble Cour, one of the jewels of 16th century Flemish civil architecture.

Flemish art for ambition ! Just as a cabinet of curiosities, the musée de Flandre brings together artists from the past and the present. From the Flemish Primitives to the landscapes of Joachim Patinir or from Roelandt Savery to contempory works by Panamarenko or Wim Delvoye, it opens a window on the diversity and wealth of Flemish art. Since its opening in 2010, the musée départemental de Flandre never stops working to promote Flemish art. Its many exhibitions off the beaten path participate in its fame as evidenced by obtaining the Label d’Exposition d’intérêt national, awarded four times in the past six years. Currently, « The Francken Dynasty » is in the spotlight until 2d January 2022.
