As previously announced, Christie’s will support La Biennale Paris’s partner - La Mission Stéphane Bern - by donating part of its commission to the Fondation du patrimoine to help restore the sites selected by Mission Bern.
In celebration of the online edition of La Biennale Paris at Christie’s, a symposium was held to explore the role of antique dealers in today’s art market. Moderated by Le Monde journalist Harry Bellet, panellists included dealers Georges De Jonckheere and Hélène Bailly, along with collectors David Lebard, Bruno Ledoux and Philippe Grodner.
The symposium took place at Christie's in Paris and was broadcast live online. It will soon be available in an English subtitled version.
The project for the online auction, “La Biennale Paris chez Christie’s” has been launched on the initiative of La Biennale Paris and Le Syndicat National des Antiquaires, after the postponement of the 32nd edition of La Biennale Paris to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
From 24 September to 8 October, 42 world-renowned galleries from 8 countries present over 90 exceptional works of art across 4,000 years of art history. The works offered online will also be exhibited and on view at the participating galleries, for the duration of the sale.
